A native of Connecticut, Kurt Hackbarth considered a career in consitutional law until several professors convinced him to pursue writing fiction, and his work has been published in the Adirondack Review (“The Francophone Baby,” 2003.) Since moving to Mexico his work has appeared in various poetry anthologies in Spanish, and in 2004 a short story, “Río Seco,” appeared in Mano de Obra. Recently his story "End of the Season" was published in Boston Literary Magazine.
Man with Luggage, Kurt’s first volume of poems, was written over a period of four years spent in the United States, Mexico, and Europe, and reflects his admiration for Rainer Maria Rilke, T.S. Eliot, Walt Whitman, William Blake, Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson. Dedicated to Joseph Chilton Pearce, author of The Crack in the Cosmic Egg, Magical Child, and Evolution’s End, it is available in bookstores, through Big Table Publishing Company, and at Amazon.com.
