Working with Robin Stratton

"Criticism was given honestly but in a very thoughtful and non-confrontational manner. I felt very much like my work was respected but at the same time, I always felt like my writing was being looked at from a fresh, honest viewpoint and always, always with an approach to making it better for the reader."
Laurie M., Bridgewater, MA

"While many people enjoy fine writing, few have the ability to communicate using correct grammar and precision of thought. Fewer still have the ability to edit and suggest corrections in the work of others. Robin is one of the exceptions."

"Her diligence, discipline, and dedication to writing is extraordinary."
Ruth L., Dennis, MA

Praise for Boston Literary Magazine

Boston Literary Magazine successfully maintains a near perfect balance. Their standards are quite high, but not unreachable. The editors are very selective without being elitist. A prompt, insightful, well reasoned rejection from Editor-in-Chief Robin Stratton is of more value to me than publication elsewhere.
D. Matthews

An editor who takes the time to respond quickly and personally to your work is a rare occurrence indeed, standard fare for Robin Stratton, editor of Boston Literary Magazine. It’s a pleasure to have found such a welcoming home for my work.
Charles C., Rochester, NY

"The selection of writing and poetry is wonderful. The editors' ability to recognize quality work is evident. I was drawn in at the first 'click' and I keeping clicking my way back for every issue."
Steve M, Florida

As an editor, Robin Stratton of The Boston Literary Magazine is a writer's delight because, unlike many editors these days, she responds quickly to submissions. She acknowledges them promptly and provides helpful feedback in her personal responses. As a writer, I am well pleased to have my poetry represented on the pages of her handsome journal.
