Inspired in part by the sculpture of Lilith by Kiki Smith, Wendy Jehlen has composed a solo dance that tells her story and culminates with Lilith in her fully realized form – a dragon-like woman, magical and unconstrained. The development of the choreography involved a collaboration with poet Keith Tornheim. Fruits of that collaboration are presented here, the poem cycle by Keith Tornheim and associated photographs of Wendy Jehlen’s performance of Lilith, that convey in two mediums the different facets of this complex, legendary character.
